We built the shelf so makers don't have to.
The Shelf is a multi-brand retailer based in Kuala Lumpur. We run shops and kiosks across Malaysia and fill them with products from entreprenuers.
Why we exist
Most business sell on Instagram and marketplaces, competing for attention against everyone else doing the same thing, it's hard to stand out. Most of the time you're not even sure if your product is selling, you just know it's not.
The barrier was never demand. It was the lease, the deposit, the staffing, and the six months of fixed cost before you find out whether a location works.
What we do
You send stock; we display it, sell it, and account for every unit. On consignment you pay nothing until something sells. If you'd rather be paid up front, we can buy the stock outright or mix the two if you can't decide.
Behind the counter is a system we built ourselves, so a vendor can see what was counted against what they declared, and watch each sale land on their line.

The people who make things shouldn't need a lease and a renovation budget to be seen. We carry the fixed cost so they don't have to.
No surprises
Terms are agreed in writing before any stock goes on a shelf. Every sale is attributed the moment it's rung up, and you can see it as it happens.
Every transaction recorded
All transactions are recorded live and vendor can view their product sold live in their dashbaord
A shelf that moves with you
If a branch isn't working for your product, your stock moves to another one. That's a transfer, not a renegotiation.
